The Marriage and Family Relationship course opened my eyes up to a lot. I wasn't too sure at first what I was going to take away from this class, I thought it was going to be a sole focus on marriage but it was about relationships as a whole. Whether it was with your spouse, boyfriend/girlfriend, friend, mother, father, child, etc. etc.
I really enjoyed writing the prototype paper. I was able to write down what is important for me in my significant other. I always had an idea in my head but it's different when you're able to write down a list and choose the most important. It reminded that I am able to hold somebody to a certain expectation, my expectation and that was fine. It reassured me of knowing what I want and what I deserve.
Option E was a very realistic paper to write. It was asking for advice pertaining to your views on pre-marital sex and your view on if you should marry the father of the baby or not. I enjoyed writing this paper because I am a mother of myself, and I was able to answer the question on how I imagined having these two conversations with my daughter. Although some of the advice I didn't follow myself but that is the beauty in being a parent, you have experience your child doesn't and you're able to potentially prevent them from committing the same faults that you have.
Not only was I able to take to take relationship advice from the class but it also made me aware of not only my culture experiences and statistics but other cultures as well. It showed how truly unique the world is. All and all this was a great course, and I learned more than I thought and more importantly I don't know everything about relationships based off experiences that I thought I did. And that is perfectly fine, your always learning and growing in your different relationships and stages in life.
